How the receptionist works
The receptionist answers a call, understands intent from natural speech, answers from the knowledge you provide, and either completes an action (such as taking booking details) or transfers to a human. Everything it says is bounded by the instructions and knowledge you configure.
Setup order
- 1
Define the greeting
Short, states the business name, and sets expectations that the caller is speaking to an assistant.
- 2
Add knowledge
Services, hours, locations, pricing policy and the three questions you get most.
- 3
Define escalation rules
Which intents always reach a human, and what happens when nobody is available.
- 4
Set business hours
Out-of-hours calls can take a message, book a callback, or continue with the assistant.
- 5
Test with real calls
Call from a mobile, interrupt mid-sentence, and try an accent or noisy environment.
Fail toward humans
When the assistant is unsure twice in a row, transfer. Callers forgive a handover; they do not forgive a loop.
